Keara Kaus earns Sauk Valley Athlete of the Week honors

Eastland junior setter Keara Kaus is the Sauk Valley Athlete of the Week. Kaus earned the recognition following a strong performance at the Oregon tournament, where she tallied 51 assists over three matches and was named to the all-tournament team. The setter currently holds more than 1,700 career assists and maintains an average of nine assists per set this season. Her coach, Katie Krogman-Grobe, cited Kaus’s court awareness and leadership as essential components of the Cougars' offense. Kaus noted her goal to reach 2,000 career assists as she continues to lead the team through the current season. She originally began her career as an outside hitter before transitioning to the setting position in seventh grade.
