Geneva Timmerman leads South Dakota to victory at Augustana Twilight cross country

Geneva Timmerman secured first place at the Augustana Twilight cross country meet on September 4 at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The University of South Dakota redshirt junior finished the 5-kilometer course in 16:59.0, leading her team to a 33-point finish and the overall title. Following her performance, Timmerman earned her first career Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honor. Teammate Drew Beason placed fifth, while other former Iowa high school runners also competed for their respective collegiate programs. In the men's 5K competition, South Dakota State secured the team title over South Dakota with a score of 30-36, aided by a fourth-place finish from Will Lohr.
