Gihan Arnolda becomes a licensed horse racing trainer in Newmarket

Gihan Arnolda has transitioned into his role as a licensed racehorse trainer based at Cadland Stables in Newmarket. Following a childhood spent in foster care and time as a chef, Arnolda pursued a career in the industry after a racing accident ended his time as a jockey in 2009. He received his trainer’s licence three months ago and has since secured six winners across 37 races. This initial success has generated £56,555 in prize money for his stable's owners. Arnolda is now targeting a total of 10 winners by the end of the year. He stated that he is believed to be the first black or Asian person to hold a horse racing trainer's licence in Britain and expressed hope that his career path will serve as an inspiration to others.
